What if you could also access literature’s greatest works, such as Emma and The Jungle Book, right from your phone? Or, some of the more obscure gems such as Mark Twain’s hilarious travelogue, Roughing It?
Das wäre natürlich nicht schlecht! Und wie Google in seinem „Inside Google Book Search“ -Blog weiter ausführt „Today we are excited to announce the launch of a mobile version of Google Book Search, opening up over 1.5 million mobile public domain books in the US (and over half a million outside the US) for you to browse while buying your postage.“
1,5 Millionen Bücher aus der public domain in den USA, mehr als 500.000 Bücher für uns anderen. Ich habe gleich mal den Test gemacht mit Goethes „Faust“ auf dem iPhone – und bin ganz angetan von der Oberfläche: http://books.google.com/m
Allerdings scheint sie mir (noch) etwas instabil zu sein, denn bei der Suche und dem Aufrufen des Buches in deutscher Sprache ist mir Safari ein paar Mal abgestürzt… Trotzdem:
